Growing
up in Kansas City, Mo, the youngest of five children, I was
very shy and often played alone. I never thought in my wildest dreams that teaching
imaginary students under our big dining room table would
lead me to fulfill my purpose.
As
God orchestrated my steps, I eventually moved to Oklahoma to attend
Langston University. I graduated in 1981 and received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Administration with emphasis in
Accounting.
Along life’s winding road, I married, had a son, and five years
later single parenting was thrust upon me because of divorce.
Because I internalized my pain, I began to write poetry and
songs to express my feelings.
As my life continued to unfold, after ten years, I
married for a second time; but seven months later, I found myself a
single parent again.
Over
the course of time, I not only gained a significant amount of accounting experience and
knowledge as an analyst, I also gained valuable wisdom on life, love, and
parenting.

In
God’s Sovereignty, the struggles of parenting, the complexities of life, and unresolved childhood issues pushed me
into a quest to learn about myself. This path inevitably led me to God, and His unconditional love drew me closer to Him.
Because
of God's love, He transformed my mistakes and struggles into desire and passion. This passion propelled me into my purpose of empowering
children to learn, and encouraging others to reach their fullest potential.
